RIP Stevefish 3/25/11

Stevefish, you never fully recovered from a life-long exposure to poor water quality, but under my eye, you started to feel less lethargic.

I hope I made the last few months of your three and a half year life more pleasant. I'm sorry you didn't feel completely better. Thank you for letting me set up a beautiful tank for you, and for living long enough to enjoy it.

Wow, that's so sad! He must have been a real fighter to have survived that long! Very nice of you to save him. :) I'm sorry he didn't live longer, but I saw pics of his wonderful tank in your album: it's 4x bigger than my biggest betta tank. He was happy, I'm sure. God bless you!

Thank you all. :) I didn't really get to know him, sadly... I really wanted him to get all better, but he was old and damaged.

I took him in and perked him up a bit before going back to college (after instructing my boyfriend of how to take care of him!). So I only got to see him on my weekend home visits.

My boyfriend saw that he looked bad, and quarantined him in a tupperware container filled with water steeped with oak leaf and floated him in his tank (he did such a good job!). He watched him die fifteen minutes before I arrived home for the weekend. :(
