If she is that tiny she is most likely a juvenile and, as long as she is taken care of, she will grown. With that many fish in your tank you are going to have to do a 25% water change every 3 days minimum. Your tank is heated/filtered? Do you have live plants?

Yes all cycled heated to 24c and has a filter which I adjusted for the betta as it was a bit strong for her. The water has been tested PH is 7.4 and 0ppm amonia and nitrite. I did the gravel and 20% water change on monday

Alright that sounds good. Keep up on your water changes - like I said, once every three days minimum. Your filter will help but that is still a huge bio-load for that tank, so keep on top of it. Something you could do, if you were really serious about wanting a sorority, is return a few of your platy's (or all of them if you wish) and start a sorority. Just make sure that is definitely what you want to do - you can't run around exchanging fish forever LOL.

Freeze dried bloodworms are alright but if you can afford the frozen kind, they are a lot more beneficial. Just pop out a cube, put it in a tupper ware container, let it thaw and put a small scoop in your tank. Then put a lid on and put it in the fridge.

Don't mix with water to thaw if you are planning on saving them, soaking in the water for days makes them go bad quickly.

will get frozen then. Yeah I think I'd best stick with one betta as maybe I've taken on too much too soon. I am gonna return some patys now because like you said I am well overstocked.

Does a snail add to stock? Was gonna get a zebra nerite but maybe not now

You should be fine with a small snail if you downsize. Just don't get one expecting it to help with the algae problem - while they do eat algae they also produce waste and contribute to the bio load.

Well it depends on her age. and age is not easy to tell unless it was recorded by the breeder, and if you bought it from a pet store you will just have to go with a "lets see".

The most you can have in a sorority in at least a ten gallon tank is 6 females. the least you can have in a female sorority is 4 females.
