:) the spotting is normal, and is carried over from wild coloration. Both my boys have that sort of faint leopard spotting on their dorsals.

this is defenitely a boy. when you are looking for a female, make sure that you see that egg spot and most of the time, the female's tummy should be gravid with eggs.
