Lightbulb HELP with my betta

well so i got my betta from a science teacher at skool
and idk if its a male or female
i looks like a roundtail and is red
i'll try posting a picture
and i read tat males if they are healthy they make bubbles at the surface
do females do it too
cuz mine has bubbles at the surface
and it has some pinkish stuff on the side of one of its gills and i don't noe if its a disease
cuz it eats fine and is actice
HELP!!

Females, when kept alone, sometimes will blow bubbles.

A picture will help us identify the sex, type and health.
