Thumbs up Water Changes?

I keep seeing everywhere to change your water 25% or 50%. Why can you just change the water 100%. Please help me understand why you should do this.

Depending on the size of your tank, it can be a lot more work to do a 100% change. In a planted tank, it would be harder on the plants to be uprooting and replanting. As well, in a cycled tank, you don't do 100% changes as you do not want to risk washing away the helpful bacteria in the substrate.

In smaller tanks like 1 to 2 gallon, 100% changes are done.

Well it pretty much depends on the situation. If you fish is sick (type of illness, medication....)
But basic is:
Small bowl without filter - 100% regular changes.
If you have cycled larger tank with filter, then smaller changes are ok (with 100% you may kill your "good" bacteria)

And answer to your question: 100% dechlorinated water, same temperature as the water in your bowl every 3-4 days.

In a 1 gallon bowl, you should be doing at least 1-50% water change a week and one 100% a week. :)

Well everybody on the forum is gonna give you answer based on their personal experience. In smaller bowl I like to change 100% each time I change the water and if you make it once a week it may be still ok, just watch for any signs of fin rot and then treat immediately.
