click if you use .5mm pellet food (like spectrum grow)

Hey,

I just got some New Life Spectrum Grow for my betta - question is, how much of this stuff should I feed him? It's .5mm and TINY, so I have no idea how to measure it or compare it to my last food.

Any of you use this stuff or can help me?

I don't use that brand, but keep in mind that a betta's stomach is the size of it's eye. They don't need a lot. (My guy gets Topfin pellets, 2-3 pellet twice a day.)

there is no indication of the weight of each pellet on the package, but it looks like it would take about 5-6 pellets to be the same mass as a Bio-Gold baby pellet but i have no idea for sure really

I use bettabites, which are pretty tiny, and I feed 3 a day. I could probably feed more, but I dont want to risk it just to find out. ;)

With the smaller pellets it's common to feed them 6 pellets twice a day. This is what I do with Attison's Betta Pro and I've learned only from the best breeders on the forum :)

If you underfeed them you will notice. A couple of my fish from Thai breeders were VERY skinny, and after feeding them a substantial amount of Attison's, they all plumped up beautifully! You'll want to see their bellies swell right after feeding, but they should return to size in the next few hours. If not, then they are bloated, and that's a whole different problem lol.

Probably gave more info than needed, but it's usually better that way!

Edit: This is info for adult bettas only... not fry or juveniles, even though there are some similarities.

Yup, I use NLS Grow & LOVE it! Yes, it is tiny so I try to give about as much as their eye. Hard to do and I probably overfeed a bit (but I only feed once a day), but I have been using it since last August without any problems - no bloating or any of that.

I use some kind of NurtaFin Max micro pellets and that's about the amount I give.

I feed the NLS small fish formula (0.5mm pellets) to Leroy and give him about 7 or 8 twice a day.
