Yo yo yo, everyone. It has come to my attention that not a lot of people know a little tidbit about nerite snails that's actually sort of important.
Nerite snails need at least 2.5 gallons of space, ideally, to live in. This can be shared with other fish, just not other snails or suckers.
For example, you can have two nerites in a 5 gallon, 2.5gals each.
It wouldnt be horrrriiibblle to add a nerite into a tank smaller than 2.5 gallons (though you shouldnt any way, considering the high bio load with the betta), but its not at all ideal.
Its sort of like the 2.5/1 gallon debate. 2.5gal+ is ideal, period. Yeah, you can go 1 gallon, but thats not nearly as good/ideal as something larger.
Just thought Id post this, as Ive seen a lot of posts that are saying they can go into 1 gallons with bettas, etc. Its silly to add anything into a tank less than 2.5 gallons, but sometimes its not realized that these little guys need space, too!
