Japonica Shrimp?

I've been thinking to get something else to crawl on my tank with my betta, I know they are quite territorial but I've heard depending on how you introduce or depending on the fish they can be quite sociable with different species, so I was thinking in get those shrimps, like maybe 5-10 max.

I also thought about the snail, but I think everyone on my family made an "ewww" face hahahaha.

But if I get any of those I probably will have to buy a live plant too...

Hmm..

edit:

Oh, this snail:

I feel like shrimp in general are pretty shy, so you might not see them very often. I don't know much else about this particular kind of shrimp. If your betta views a shrimp as food, you're out some shrimp and the money you paid for them. Snails, on the other hand, can have their antennae nipped off but otherwise they can protect themselves by hiding away in their shells. Because they can reproduce like crazy, though, I feel it's safer to only have one because they're sort of hard to sex. Apple snails come in a lot of different colors (I've even got a blue one!) and mine have always been really active and full of personality, so I'm more partial to snails. You could do one snail and a couple of shrimp if you wanted, provided you have the space / filtration for the number you'd like.

Yeah, and my local pet store didn't have the shrimps so I got lazy enough not to look at the other pet store 30mins away. :V

So I bought the snails, I love them now though xDD!

Not when they hide 24/7 :P

What colors did you get? I have a big black one that I love, and I recently got a little blue guy from Petsmart. They're a lot of fun, and I've learned that the warm waters that bettas require prompt apple snails to be more active.

Yep, and also shorten their life, is some sort of "I was born to run x meters, if I get to that number I will DIE!" xD!

is like you watch them on a VCR pressing the FF button hahahahah!

Anyway, it's 3 golden ones, these are from yesterday night:

If you ever have a chance to get these guys, I would get them. Yamato-Numa Ebi(Japanese name for amano shrimp/Japanica shrimp), are great shrimp! They are great algea eaters, and once settled in will be quite bold. Mine are much more bold than my corydoras catfish.

yeah I've heard there's a pet shop here that have those but would be too much troublesome to get them, and now I have the snails so I will stick with those for the moment
