Nina's Flowers

They're finally blooming so nicely!
I thought they needed sun, but apparently it's just the opposite. Shade loving plants.
Anyway, it's looking good, so I think Nina is feeding it well. I wanted to share it with you guys.

It's not much, but it means a lot to me.

Looks like a vinca species or sometimes called impatiens and indeed a shade loving plant...they look lovely and Nina is feeding them well......sorry for your loss btw and what a neat way to memorialize her.......

I thought it was a nice way to memorialize her.
When I told my mom she said that it would probably start to smell after a while... As far as I've noticed it really hasn't.
I'd definitely recommend this method to anyone who's lost a fish. Especially one that you were close to. I don't think i will be able to do this for all of my fish when their times come, but I figure for the select few it would be something nice to do.

What are some other methods you guys use? I don't want to have to flush or throw away a single one of them. Their mortality has become too real to me after Nina died. And with two more of my girls having the same issue, I have a feeling I might have to bury at least one of them sooner than expected.

That's a cool way for a memorial! If I could keep plants alive I'd do that too. (Yah I now I can keep fish and a 7yr old living and breathing but plants seriously hate me) I'm sorry for your loss.

I read your post the day she passed away. The flowers look beautiful! At the end of the season impatiens produce seed pods which pop open. If you watch you can gather the seeds easily and replant them and keep her plants. :)

Best wishes

I'm just glad I haven't killed them yet. I have death's thumb when it comes to plants it seems. lol luckily this one seems to be easy to care for!

Oh gosh - I do the same thing!!!! I thought I was the only one & I'm glad to see I'm not.

So sorry about your fish, though. :(
