They will probably reject them for a day or so, but maybe not. Just keep trying :)

If I were to crush it into little chunks and feed it to them like pellets, do you think that'd be okay?

Laughing said they are okay, but they cause a lot of ammonia, which makes a lot of sense. :)

But I want to spoil my little buggers, and get them something YUMMI for dinner tonight.

I know this sounds GROSS... but someone suggested to feed them FLEAS!!!???

How horrible is this? or is this not such a bad idea?

(I'm not suggesting this, just running it past you all)

Anything live like Fleas is perfectly fine as wild betta's will pounce on insects in the wild, good protein! The other day found a small spider crawling around the kitchen. Caught that baby in a cup and dropped him in. Betta loved it!!

My bettas LOVE their fruit flies!

And I think dropping in a small piece is fine. It will dissolve, though, so I would watch him eat it. You can't just swallow it, they peck on them instead. So if most dissolves, do a water change soon after (like within a day).

frozen stuff you can feed regularly, it's freeze dried that you should only do once a week
