Oh, I forgot to ask. How long should I keep doing the salt water. I have been reading on here to try and find the answer, but either I am missing the information, or it isn't posted. Thanks again:)

Probably at least three days, five or more if you don't see any improvement. I know, I can't find the answer either. I think you just have to go with your gut feeling.

The way to a fish's heart is definitely through his stomach.

I believe 7-10 is usually suggested, 10 is supposed to be the absolute max

Ahhh..thank you for the information. He seems to be doing so much better these days. I was kind of concerned last night because when I checked on him before going to bed, he had this stringy white stuff stuck to his mouth. He was frantically trying to get it off. So I grabbed a pair of tweezers and pull it off for him. It looked milky white and kind of like little fuzzy worms. Not sure if it was parasites or not. Today he looks great. He is getting some pretty colors on his top fin, and he is attacking his food when I feed him. He is like a bottomless pit..lol He doesn't look so ratty either. Hubby thinks he is gaining weight. I will keep doing the salt and such and hopefully he continues to improve. :) Today was the first time I actually saw him pooping as well, so I am thinking what is going in is actually coming out now, which I would think is a good thing for him. At least I know his intestines are working now.

I wonder if it could have been a piece of fin that had finally rotted all the way off? Maybe he pulled some fin off himself. Or I guess it could have been poo . . .

I thought it might be that too, but his fins look ok. So I am not sure what it was, but he definitely did not like it hanging from his mouth.

I will get some pictures tomorrow of him:) I might even be able to get pics of Po if he would come out of his log long enough for me to take his picture. He doesn't like his picture taken..lol
