I had the same thing happen so I redid the divider with aquarium sealant. It's held up so far.

Yeah, the sealant was so permanent and I had access to it I would have used it.

When I have gaps, I put extra mesh behind them if its hard to fix without using sealant :D Its too much to get around and you can cut to fit, leaving a bit of extra to poke out the sides for stability.

He definitely went over the top, because there are no gaps in the sides. I put him back on his "side" and he has stayed there for now.
