Male 1 is a rosetail. It may look pretty but it's not something you want to introduce into your gene pool. 2 has messy scales but a better caudal. Male 3 is a slight rose but his scales are better. I would probably wait and see if a better male comes up in the future but thats just me. If you have to have one I'd go with 3.

I'd avoid Thai fish for awhile if I were you...they're much more tempermental than American bred fish.

The first one!!! The first one!!!

But he is a rosetail and they have a lot of deformities.

Well i hope you choose well.

I like the first one best, he is rose tail, but it really isn't anything too extreme of course we've seen worse (feather tail) so breeding him to a SD or a HM with not as many rays might lessen up on the amount of rose.

I would just watch out for deformities because they will really come down on you and can be harder to find homes as well.

Good luck to you. Let us know what you choose.

#1: gorgeous as a pet but unadvised for breeding. Notice how his caudal are folded everywhere.... that's a sign of bad genes. Plus he is a rose, which explains why his fins are folded.

#2 & #3: IMO are siblings, both lack in anal (rather long and untidy). #2 has better dorsal and caudal but worse anal.

#4: Poor fins - dorsal is leaning to the back. (It's suppose to at least stand upright or better yet lean forward). Anal is also long and untidy.

I would wait for a better one or ask breeders you've dealt with if they have what you're looking for..... it would be a shame to spend so much on imperfections. But if you must get one now, I'd go with either 2 or 3.

I heard the same thing. But i have no explanation. I guess it kind of makes sense though because maybe its just their origin country lol? Im sorry i dont know. I would like to know too though.

I know this doesnt really make much sense but i find that when it comes to breeding red HM's, VT's, CT's or any other tail type that is all red, they are a little more aggressive. Weird. Maybe its just me.
