Actually. they arent as simple to keep as some may think.
i kept mine in a 20 gallon long, the smallest id recommend is a 10 gallon.
4+ inches of moist substrate, 2 heat lamps and spraying to keep humidity up.
also, i would have to give them fresh and saltwater dips because i had ecuadorian crabs. hermit-crab.com is a great website. and covers a little more in depth than alot of places. they are nice, but the care that goes into them out ways their pros. IMO thats why I rehomed all 7 of mines.

I used to think hermit crabs were amazing and I wanted one so badly when I was little.
Then the guy who was about to hand a six year old me a crab in a pretty blue shell with gems on it he swore and said it pinched him.
Then I saw it's face. I was six and terrified at that point. I just dragged my mom off to look at frogs.

I ended up with a goldfish who died three years later.

Now two betta's. I would get a shrimp or three for Kai's tank but I'm worried he'd beat them to death. He's got such pretty rays I don't wanna risk his tail.

I wish you luck with the little buggers. I heard they can eat berries and stuff. (Watched a few youtube video's of 'em. Sooo cute.)
