I don't kow how to use a gravel vac i am a new fish owner and have never heard of it before.

Gravel vacs and siphons have a bigger "suck up" part and tubing. You put the bigger part in the tank and (sometimes) suck the other end of the tube to draw up the water. Before it gets to the end of the tube by your mouth, put that part into a bucket, and let it drain out.

Move the bigger part around the tank to "vacuum" it and remove poop and debris, as well as water. Once youve done as much as you want, dump out the water and add new, conditioned water back in- very slowly and gently.
