Super glue in fishtank

Is super glue safe? If so which one is the safest to use? I need to fix my divider.

Superglue is safe, but keep in mind that it can be very difficult to remove.

What superglue leaves behind is acrylic. 8) Go ahead, just remember to use carbon for a week after.

For fixing the divider I'd suggest the gel type.

Thanks! It worked perfectly...A bit more messy than aquarium sealant...but I liked not having to wait 48 hours for it to dry...

how much is aquarium sealant? im looking for a tank larger than 1gal. found a tank in the store, 5.5 glass gal without any silicone to seal it. i figure some sort of sealant might make it worth purchasing. think it mightve been a 2nd hand tank but didnt think to ask when i was there.

The sealant and time and trouble for a 5.5 isn't worth it even if the tank is free.

Most 5.5 go for about $13.00 at an LFS, I saw a kit from AllGlass of tank plus standard screw-in hood for $22.50 at mine.

ty Thunderloon. i seriously doubt i can find such a deal in Montreal Quebec. so many big american retail companies are hard to find in Quebec. 5 gal are minimum mid $40 cad at retail stored even walmart can only do $35 W/O tax.
