"Puffy Eye"

OK...

Our tank's water got very cloudy, and some algea started growing on the sides. I think my brother fed him too much. Now one of our fish's eyes is really puffy. It looks kinda like a barnacle is stuck to his head.

I changed the water and washed off the algae. is he going to be OK? Is there something I can get to help his swelling go down, or is he a goner?

Welcome to Fishforum.com.

What are your water parameters? I would look into that if I were you. Determine the results of ammonia, nitrites, nitrates and pH using the API liquid test kit. Bad water quality may have been the result of the puffy eye. Any pictures?

A 25% water change is in order. Sounds like "new tank syndrome" has struck again. And keep your bratoher away from the tank. lol

When you post an update, there is a button to allow you to upload a picture. Make sure it's smaller than 800x600.

Well, the change in water seemed to help.

He was swimming sluggishly before, now he's swimming quick and lively.

His eye also was white and puffy before, now it's blue and puffy, and it seems to be subsiding.

Thanks for the advice.
