If you decide to breed the delta i suggest getting a delta female.

I also hope that you do breed regardless of what people are saying so you can get the experience, as (OFL) said.

I was planning on getting a DT anyway i know betta can mix but i think that it takes away from the type if you understand ( not meaning any disrespect to any one who does) its just a personnel thought. i was just looking at some of the betta room photos on here and i actually have a nice spot that i can put the breeding tank on one shelf and my adult betta on the shelf above it

I understand what you mean. Though with certain tail types, it does take away from the regular tail types.

It's not a good idea to spawn a DT with another DT because they carry defective genes. It's better to spawn DT X ST then inbreed the DT genos to get the actual DT.

Mixing tail types does take away it's originality (?). But sometimes it's necessary to improve their form/color in general.
