Hello everyone again :)
Thank you SO MUCH for all the help. I mean it. It has really really helped me learn and I still feel horrible about Hubie, but he was my first beta and the pet stores are HORRIBLE.
BUT.
I wrote everything down that you guys said and made a list and got the necessary items and wrote down exactly how to do the cycling and transferring of the fish. After much time .... he is now in the new tank! I did a slow transfer and oh my goodness that pet store water is FREEZING that they keep them in. NONE added to my new tank. I also bought Aquaplus (I think that is what it is called it's in a yellow bottle. I remember it was one of the ones suggested in this thread). I measured appropriately. Let the tank cycle for awhile. Water temp was perfect. Slowly transferred him in. I also bought the new spectrum life pellets and threw out the dried blood worms and other pellets I had.
Here is a picture of him and he is awesome! He is very active and I am keeping a close eye on him. I do not have a name for him yet, though. He is even more beautiful in person!
