I just let him go in the tank to answer your question.
He's going up to get air and holding himself mid-tank so I know he's ok. I lowered the water level so they can't jump it. Need to find a fix.

I'm going to test his mood right now..cup a female into his side and see how he reacts to her. It took one good look at a male to knock my new (mask? still don't know color) half-moon male out a funk this morning.

lol, yeah sometimes it takes a jumpstart like that to get them out of a mood..

but, careful, since i would try to keep flaring minimal when hes recovering. dont want him to split those fins with him trying to flare too hard..

He's dancing for her. This is the FUNNIEST look from a female betta I've ever gotten. She,very seriously, just looked at me and rounded her eyes with a big 'oh shi.' face on. lol!

I've gotten my answer - he's cool. Showin' off those rips for the lady.

Didn't look like it! She's smaller though. I'm sure if I put the larger c/t female in she'd like him. haha
