Help me identify new snail?

I bought java moss about a month ago and put it in QT for 3-4 weeks.. One little snail hitched a ride on the plant.. it was barely visible at first and it seems to be growing bigger and bigger by the day! Right now it's about half the size of my pinky fingernail, maybe even smaller. I was just wondering if someone could help me identify it..

Also, I wanted to know if the type of snail I have reproduces by itself or not (if that's the case I'll have to get rid of it.. give it away or something, maybe even ship it to someone on here that lives in Canada..)

Im in Cape Breton, you can toss him over here!! I got some on my java fern the other day, little black snails that go to the surface for air so I am suspecting an Apply Snail. Pond Snails breed like rabbits. I am unsure where you live in the province, but are Assassin snails an option for you?

Cool! I'm from the Cape too! Small world, eh? I actually got the plant from the other end of the province (Digby area) so I have no clue what kind of snail it could possibly be. :\

I am really happy to see another Betta owner this close.

I don't know much about snails so my best guess would be to Google and look at pics. I have no idea what mine is but since it goes to the air to breathe, I am thinking Apple Snail.

I have a friend here who is looking for tanks overrun by snails, she would love a ton of them for her tank. If yours does reproduce, I'd be happy to take them for her/me :)

Me too! Too bad our pet's unlimited didn't take better care of their bettas. :(

Half the time when I go in the little containers they keep them in are disgusting with half-dead bettas. Once, their "pet betta" (red butterfly vt) that they won't sell, was in a little .5 gallon dirty "tank" at the front of the store with a FEMALE half dead inside with it.... When I pointed it out to one of the workers he scooped the girl out right away.

I'll be sure to let you know if it reproduces!

We got Venom there last week, the fish looked good only because I suspect they got new shipments in. Be careful with buying there lately, my 10gal got a parasite from the store :( That's why I turned to online buying and won't be getting more danios/swords for my 29gal. And yes, Squisshie at the front of the store kills me. I want to take him home.

I'm sending you a PM!

I think you're right, but I can't seem to find any information about them.

Pond snail :B
Kill it or move it, because itll breed like mad if given a few days.

They can get to a respectable size at times, my bf's had a few that were really, really big.
