What ARE these in my tank?!?!

This morning when I woke up to feed my fish there were these weird little dark brown string things that may be worms (idk they arent moving) hanging off the suction cup on the thermometer. I have no clue what they are.. I don't think they are parasites because they're dark brown and my fish is pooping normal.. But there is 10-15 of them on my thermometer...

I have two guesses but I'm not sure.. 1. I got a new plant four weeks ago and put it in QT until Monday that just past. The only critter that came off of it was one single little snail.. I put the snail in this tank and put the plant in a different one.. The snail is really small but seems to be growing fast.. so far it is clear with black dots. Could this be a cause?

2. There has been a small weird type of fly flying around my room, I can never catch it to get it out of here.. could it be larvae?

Those are just two wild guesses but I really have no clue.. Can someone identify this? And how do I get rid of them?? Will they hurt my fish?

Looks like snail poopy to me o.o
The onw that hitch-hiked in on my plant leaves little poos like that every where! It has also had babies... Going to have to break the whole tank down soon. I'd get the snail out if I were you.
But I'm definitely going with snail poop.

Just suck them out with a turkey baster or airline tubing.

Yup... I agree, snail poo. If you leave it in there soon will be many snails and much poo
