ok i didn't feed him at all yesterday (except for the 1 flake he sucked up when my back was turned) and he looks better, his belly has flattened out.

NEVERMIND. i fed him normally for a few days AND IT LOOKS LIKE HE SWALLOWED A MARBLE AGAIN! so frustrating!!

Don't confuse bloat with a normal full tummy after a meal...with bloat you generally will have other signs/symptoms......beside the extended tummy-they will stop eating, pooping, become lethargic, hide and sometimes buoyancy issues......its normal for the tummy to look big especially after a meal, some Betta will look bigger than others due to body shape...CT and double-tails tummy sometimes will look bigger than other tail type due to body shape.....the tummy should decrease in size within a reasonable time....it is better to feed small frequent meals than large daily meals as a general rule.....
