Any Betta lovers in DFW?

So my man and I moved here to Allen-Mckinney TX in the Dallas-Fort Worth area a few months ago. Thing is, he lived her for 9 years so he has all these friends and I dont XD His chick friends are kinda eh, not interested in hanging out with someone who likes pokemon, anime, and bettas. They like to drink/smoke and Im all straight-edge. His guy friends are cool but they like "man-time" and talk about metal music 24/7. -_- Id like to meet someone close, not hours away though, who'd enjoy my company and talk nonstop about aquariums- perferingly a chick like me around 19 XD I neeeeed betta enthusiasts to hang out with!! Someone to go to petstore sales with and look at each others fish. I feel like I am the only one here!

If anyone knows if any big petstores have local aquarium clubs lemme knw!

Although I don't live in the area, making friends that share your interest isn't hard. Visiting the local petstore just to talk to people is a good way to make friends. Me and my little betta have made many friends, mainly cause I take him, along with my dog, to the PetsMart when I need supplies.

You take your betta with you? That may cause stress, and lower his immune system capability.

I don't mean to burst your bubble here... it is indeed cute that you bring your betta with you to the petstore, but while he's away from his hopefully heated tank, hes exposed to temperature fluctuations, which wreak havok on his immune system. It's best to leave the betta at home where he's happy and stable. :)
