Flaring

One of my to boys is a showoff and flares all the time, but my other boy never flares, he just doesn't seem to care or be all that impressed by other males.
Does anyone else have a betta who is like that? He's just kinda laid back. He is always curious about everything though :) just doesn't want to flare

One of my boys, Fishy, has no desire to flare..EVER. He has a few times, and it looks like he has a deformity of some sort, but he's really docile.
On the flip side, I have a boy who spends most of his time flaring at everything and showing off.

Dandy Chap isn't too prone to flaring. When he does, it's half-hearted. He's puffed his gills halfway at other males. However he does the whole shibang for my female, Jade. xD Flares up, puffs his gills, and wiggles around at her like mad. lol

My blue HM is like that -- hasn't flared once since I got him. I just got a red CT and put their tanks next to each other and the red one flared up a storm, but the blue one just looked at him like, "What do you want?" And my blue one is really curious too -- constantly sticking his little nose into every nook and cranny in the tank and the gravel. Very strange, that one, lol...

they lift their gill flaps and their "beard" comes out, also they fan out their tail lie ALL the way, it's their wy of showing off or looking bigger and scarier to a potential oppenent I guess :)
