HalfMoon from petco

Went looking for sand today, and ended up with a translucent white male HM. Boy was my mom unhappy .
I will get photos of him once i get him home! He is going to be in a divided tank with my Black HM male! Graphite and Quartz!

Got Pics of him Now!
Sorry everything's so yellow... artificial light.
His tail is a little rough, but seems to have some new growth.

Quartz!

Awww...Poor little guy. He looks like he 's healing like you said though. That's good. If you add a little salt to his tank it may help. I use 1/4 teaspoon dissolved per 2.5 gallons, and twice as much if they get sick. I'm surprised your Petco didn't have him in quarantine and not for sale. At the Petco by me, there's been a few times that when it's brought to their attention, they will do that for their Betta until they start healing. I wish it was like that everywhere though. Neyways, I wish you the Best of luck with him.... and I can tell he's going to be even that much more stunning than he is right now once he heals up. ^_^

i hope he colors up white, but he seems to be turning more yellow. Yup, he will get some salt, though he dosnt have fin rot.
Other then 1 nearly dead VT, all of the fish looked quite healthy.

That's good. Surprisingly Petco's selection here is kept better than even our LFS that breeds them.

soo im starting to wonder if this fish has a nervous disorder.
He shakes when he is looking at food..moves VERY slow, and despite managing to gobble the food up..he spits it right back out.

Hmmm... It could be stress or maybe someone used to poke at him in the past while trying to feed him. IDK I'd say, just give him a few days and keep trying to encourage him to eat. After about a week or so if he still refuses to eat, try him slowly on different foods as some bettas can be very picky. If al else fail try live brine shrimp. Let us know if he gets worse though, I'm sure someone here could help you out as well.

I also forgot, keep him quarantined just in case he's sick, especially since you planning on having him in a divided tank.
