First Betta - Judah!

My new boy, the first Betta I have ever owned. He lives happily with two Ottos and a few ghost shrimp. I don't have a heater yet, suggestions?
If he makes it, I would like to eventually breed him. What should I look for in females and what is his color? The pictures show exactly how his colors are in real life. He is a double tail. He is very, very active and friendly. I just love him :)

Thanks! You can't tell by the picture, but he has the prettiest blue eyes.

Very nice. I hope that the tank is 10 gallons at least with all those fish in there! Its very important to properly stock a tank.

Id say wait on breeding. Breeding takes lots of time and tons of money to do, and is very difficult. I would advise you wait to breed, especially since this is your first betta fish, and breeding is not something for beginners.

To get better help specific to breeding, post in the breeding section of the forum. Theyll probably say the same thing there.

He's very cute, a marble cellophane Double tail. He'll probably change colors for you once youve owned him a while.

Edit:

We need to know the size of the tank to recommend a heater for you. Bettas need 76-82'F to thrive, and they very much need a heater. The otos, too, actually.

I've been out of town for about a month and had my husband send me a picture of Judah recently. My goodness has he changed! Gotta love marbles :)

I had a feeling he'd darken up nicely. :) Did you ever get him a heater?

I have bought one since I've been gone, but he won't get it until I get back ;)
