My Betta has recently been getting some strange white 'bubble' like growths where he lets out waste. I have seen it twice now, it usually happens after feeding, and is a strange, perfectly wound white ball that is smooth like plastic. It is hardly attached and falls off after a few minutes of rapid swimming, leaving behind a little bit of white waste attached to his body.

It reminds me of when female bettas lay eggs, but I assure you, this betta is male!
At the moment he is on every day full water changes with aquarium salt, today being his last one, to treat what looked to be the beginning stages of fin-rot (turns out he nips himself). Here are the basic questions answered.

4-6 pellets, once a day, 6 days a week. About one blood worm every other day. (Hand fed)

Usually weekly, currently on day 5 of every day.
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change?
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change?
Aquasafe for the chlorine.

He is currently on treatment for fin tears.
Does your fish have any history of being ill?
He has a history of being self-destructive when bored. I am constantly providing new stimulation.
How old is your fish (approximately)?
I am gonna guess a year. I got him about a month ago and his fins weren't fully developed and he was very small. Now he is much larger with fully developed fins.
