hmm does anyone know if it is ok for a male crown tail and a female 2 mate...and also I just got the 2 today a while ago they had seperate tanks but when i wanted to put them in the same tank the female was in the same bowl so i could change the tank as the male and she cuddled him, now they are staying on there side of the tank! please help i do not know what this means!

Female and male bettas will fight if they are not ready to breed, sexually mature, if the conditions are not right and if one of them rejects the other one for breeding. Sooner or later there is a good chance that they will either kill one another or at least one of them is going to suffer some fin damage from the other.

yeah I second that...often the female will be the more aggresive one if she is not ready and a male crowntail has plenty of finnage for her to pick at and tear. Even when you do breed them you introduce the female into the males tank and seperate her shorty after breeding has finished.
