African Chichlid fish give me the creeps..

I don't know why but whenever I see an African Chichlid I like shiver and tear up. Like at my local Petsmart, they have the tanks lined up on the far wall with the bettas on a seperate shelf next to it and the food and stuff on a large cart infront of them. And just my luck, the African chichlids are right next to the betta shelf so when I go to get a new betta they are always there to haunt me. I don't know what it is but when I went to my friend Sarah's house she said she had a huge 55g tank in her basement, and we went to go look at it and in it she had like four adult ones and an albino baby one. I screamed and ran up stairs.

So yeah.. What is it about them? It's just like ugh.. Their eyes and mouth and the way they swim forward like they're looking at you.. grrr..

I plan on getting a tank full of African Cichlids, I think they are beautiful fish with lots of personality. That is after our tank of Angel Fish/Rainbow Fish/Rams lol

I guess it's a tropical fish owner thing? In the other fish world, Cichlids are probably the most popular fish.

WOW! That seems like a wierd phobia. I had a couple of African tanks years ago. I had alot of fun with it. All the different shapes and colors of the fish.

I saw something about cjchlids on Animal Planet earlier. It was quite interesting.

I don't really like the African cichlids either, I prefer south/central American cichlids which I love :D

I think their a little weird but pretty none the less. I actually was writing a story in which the characters I was writing about made an impulse fish buy...
I wanted it to be so strange that I picked the Chichlid instead of the betta or goldfish.
I like Green Terror Chichlids.
