Not an Emergency Just curious

When I went to buy my new tank yesterday I checked out the selection of Betta's they had. For the first time ever they had a Crowntail and whats more, it was a black one! I so wanted to take him home. Then I noticed on the very tip of one spike and only on one, there was this lil white fuzzy bit. Ive looked through the treatment thread but im not sure what this could be. It will be a lil while yet til I get a fish but for reference, is this something I should avoid like the plague or is it something that could probably be cleared up fairly easily?

Most likely nothing to worry about. Be afraid, be very afraid if the white fuzzy spots are on the body, that could be columnaris. But with fins, I generally only worry if the edges are black, ragged, and falling off in chunks.

Okies :) It was definately just that one point on one spike of the fin. I doubt it will matter as I cant imagine he will still be there when im ready for my boy, but I would rather ask for future reference :)

Yup, it can save you a lot of sorrow if you know ahead of time whether or not a betta has a chance of survival. And research is always good.

on the fins, it just means his water wasn't clean, and it ripped. x: used to happen to Cup all the time. just keep his water extra clean, and add a little Aquarium Salt, and it'll clear up within a day. x:
