Opps! Pea mistake!!!

I was feeding my betta his every 10ish day pea and dropped 2 pieces in that he couldn't find so dropped in a third. I went to go scoop out the ones on the bottom and he got them both when i walked away to get the net. hes now extremely bloated. Should I just fast him for a couple of days or will the pea go right through him?

Fast him and hopefully the pea will also go right through him. When feeding pea, make sure not to feed a piece that's bigger than one of his pellets. I hope he shrinks down for you soon. Good luck!

Just to add, please dont feed the betta peas on a regular basis. Its unnatural. If you want him to have a clearing out day for his system, fast him (no food) once a week or so, try for a day you're at work or school to avoid seeing pleading looks.

Yes, peas should really be a last resort. And be sure to use NO SALT ADDED pea if you do use them. Along with fasting, you may have better results with frozen daphnia. Petsmart occasionally sells it.
