Rohan, my red/cello marble VT .... I can't believe you're gone. I really can't. I didn't see that you were sick and I'm so sorry for that, baby. It was too late to save you. My dear one, you are free now.
He was acting fine over the weekend but didn't show any signs of illness, until I took a REALLY good look at him while doing water changes last night. He was COVERED in velvet. I placed him in a hospital tank with coppersafe and heated the water to 85* and hoped for the best. But he was too far gone when I checked on him at noon.
I know what happened though, and I hate to say it. The air conditioning was on, and I have no heaters in my tanks (I know, I know). Then it was turned off, I opened my window, and the temperature was up. So I think it might have been the drastic temperature fluctuations. I'm trying to now keep my room as warm as possible for the sake of my other bettas and my tropical plants.
RIP Rohan. Gonna miss that flash of red when the sunlight hit his tank ... and he was a fireball. I loved him so much.
