Vacation - what to do about feeding?

I'm going on vacation for six days and am worried about what will happen to my fish.

I'm having someone over in the middle of those six days to clean up after and feed my cats. I'm worried that the person will overfeed my fish.

Is it better to just not feed my fish for six days? Should I get one of those vacation feeders that dissolve in water?

I have a 37g tank with 6 loaches and 5 tetras, and a 5g tank with 1 betta.

Could you get the person to put so much once a day? I would get one of those 7 day pill containers, and put the food for each day in one. Can't mess that up! Being fed once a day is better than nothing I would think. My tetras would eat each other lol

I suggest not risking having someone feed your fish (unless there's someone you have great confidence in). 6 days should not be a problem.

Feed them and do a big water change just before leaving and first thing after coming back. They should be fine.

Good luck!

I would put a set amount in a pill container or zip lock, and have them feed the fish once or twice in that week. like day 3 and 5

I agree. Either dont worry about it or leave food only enough for them for one feeding, instruct them to do it mid-vacation, like the 3rd day.

Hide the food and leave out only the correct amount.
