Columnaris? Or something else?

No no no no!

I posted this a couple of weeks ago - http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=74710 and got excellent help from OFL.

Today, I was sitting and watching the boys. Nero in particular, since Octo's very happy and other than the occasional bite, has nearly stopped tailbiting.

His eyes are almost completely white now, with small pinpricks, which I assume is for the pupil. His gills are green, and I noticed an alarming new development. He has white fuzz on his upper lip. It doesn't look like fuzz, more like a thread or fiber. But I have no idea how anything like that could've gotten in his tank. In any case, it looks like it's sticking to his lip. He also has faint fuzz on his dorsal fin.

The tank specs again:
Housing
What size is your tank?
2.5 gallons

What temperature is your tank?
80 degrees

Does your tank have a filter?
Yes

Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration?
No

Is your tank heated?
Yes

What tank mates does your betta fish live with?
A snail.

Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish?
Hikari Betta Bio-Gold pellets

How often do you feed your betta fish?
Four pellets twice a day with one day of fasting per week.

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change?
Every few days, and siphoning the poop in between.

What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change?
50 to 75 percent

What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change?
Nutrafin water conditioner

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?
I haven't done that yet - I'm doing that tomorrow.

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed?
Cloudy eyes with a whitish film, green markings on the gills, white fuzz on lip and fin

How has your betta fish's behavior changed?
None that I've noticed. He might be having difficulty finding his food now - he hangs out very close to the trapdoor at feeding time.

When did you start noticing the symptoms?
The eyes and green gills - July 9th. The fuzz - a few minutes ago.

Have you started treating your fish? If so, how?
Not yet - I wanted to get opinions and tips on how to treat

Does your fish have any history of being ill?
Cloudy eyes and green gills.

How old is your fish (approximately)?
Maybe six months to a year old?

The tank has a snail to help with the BGA, and it is cleaned frequently to maintain water quality. There is also a moss ball, which I QT for a few days before putting in. Everything is just how it should be.

I have no idea what to do. I keep googling and nothing's popping up. I'm at the end of my rope. I can TRY getting pictures in the morning.

If you think it may be Flexibacter columnaris...get the water temp lower to the low-mid 70's and start high dose aquarium salt 3tsp/gal, aeration with an airstone can also be helpful and good nutrition...best to Qt for treatment and add tannins to the premixed treatment water used for the 100% daily water changes....good luck....

This is what his eyes look like -

I couldn't find the fuzz on his body today - I'm hoping it fell off or something.
