Talking New Pretty Boy :)

I was completely cleaning out my 55 gal tank yesterday (for the first time in I can't even remember, I admit embarrassingly ) and I realized I didn't have any filters, so I had to run to petsmart to get some. But... Because I heard of the recent changes petco has had with their betta section (bigger containers, larger selection, and cleaner water) I decided to drive the extra fifteen minutes there instead, because I'm sure we can come to a mutual agreement when I say "who can go to a pet store without coming home with another fish?"

Well, that's exactly what happened. What's better is that I must have gotten there when they just got a shipment. They must have had 50 different bettas for me to goggle over. I had to fight myself to only get one, especially since they had such a HUGE variety. They had veiltails, hm, hmpl, delta, double tail, hmdt, and some HUMONGOUS "king" bettas! The one I got is a butterfly/marble double tail. He was just so beautiful and healthy and active. In fact, he had already begun building himself a bubble nest inside his container!

"Hi there!"

Normally I don't like bettas with light-colored faces, and I especially don't like bettas with black/dark eyes. But, I have a bit of confidence that he'll darken up slightly on his head and the eyes won't bother me as much. He was sold to me labled as a double tail half moon. He's actually my first double tail :)

He's super active! Always swimming around! I tried feeding him yesterday but he was too busy checking out his new home :O

Here are some decent pics of him:

And then he tried EATING his own reflection! xDDD

And here he is smoking a cigar :P

DBT's tend to have shorter bodies than other fish. Hes a good lookin' fish, not bloated or anything.
