I went to petco and a lady there was with me while I was picking out a new guy (Max) and I said "I want em all" ! She's like,"You wanna know what I do?" I said"ok". She said," I keep some guys in separate vases...blah blah." VASES! ugh..
Its been running like this since 1951.. I really want to do something about it... The worst thing is the people who came to see them saw nothing wrong with the scenario :(
I love how in the second video they try to make everything all better with pretty music. Bah. Those poor turtles looked like they were drowning because they couldn't find a rock to rest on. :( And in the first video one of the turtles didn't look like it was moving . . . Some of those fish looked like they were getting hole-in-the-head disease.
Some vases hold 2 gallons..so it might not be too bad...
Yeah, I can handle 2 gallon vases. But somehow I get this sneaking suspicion that people who blithely say, "I keep 'em all in vases!" mean those skinny-necked vases in still life paintings that hold two cups of water. :/ I saw some neat shallow, rectangular vases at my local Jo-Ann's craft store that would have been big enough but of course there was no lid.
Tell me about it! And this was 2 months ago.. Most of those are missing today -__-..
The turtles all had metabolic bone disease and shell rot.. One poor guy had an eye infection. And they probably were drowning.. There were 25 of them in a 300 gallon! I'm sorry I'm ranting so much but I'm so outraged X(
