Babies first bubble nest?

Hey guys, I walked up to Tomiko's tank today and I saw something that suprised me...the beginnings of a bubble nest

I'm wondering if this is normal...I mean, what age do babies usually start blowing bubbles anyway?

"Look look look what i made"
How adorable! I actually saw a video of a fry about his size "shooting bubbles" and in the comments people were saying he was practicing, but the tank was filtered, your tank looks calm so maybe they stuck :)

LOL Thanx XD, he's such a cutie...I think you're right, he's probably just blowing random bubbles as practice and they are just forming together...I wonder...is this proof that he's actually a male...cause I'm still a little foggy on that one...

Tomiko is actually a little more than two months now I think...he was spawned at the very end of may and its the beginnings of August, so I would say he's about that age...so bubble blowing is normal, its just another one of those stepping stones that tell that they are growing
good

...Is there any way to sex at this age? or is the bubble blowing enough to say that he is without doubt a male?

i jarred all of mine a week ago and i have two that blew bubble nests bigger then my adults. so i am assuming they are males. plus they have longer fins.hopefully that helps you.

this actually just came to my mind. When is tomiko going to color up?

I've actually been wondering this myself, so far he literally has no color to speak of. There's not even any iridescence or even a slight tint to his body. My best guess is that he's going to be a red cambodian like his mother, but at this point your guess is as good as mine
