I think I might try kool-aid dying for the heck of it. Some of the girls in my local knitting group have done it.

hey everyone! I just bought some yarn, a group of diff sized crochet needles, and a how-to crochet book. What is the easiest things to make, since I am just starting? I've taught myself latch hooking and knitting, is it a lot like that? Is it easy? Sorry about all the ?'s, but I want to try this!!!!

If you can knit, you can crochet. Easiest thing to start with is a dishrag or a coaster. It's basically a square. The tip I can really offer is pay attention to turning chains, they're what threw me off when I first started crocheting. Also, you can try going to www.lionbrand.com and checking in their how-to section if you get stuck. Good luck and post a pic when you've got something made.

Yeah, drafting is really hard at first. Takes lots of practice. Do you predraft your roving? That's how I started to finally 'get' it. Another good trick if you don't know it is to split your roving, until it's about the width of a pencil. Then it's easier to draft out.

My camera battery is charging, but I'll show pics in a few minutes of what I just took off my wheel last night.

I normally can't wear anything woolly... I itch, I mean, am sensitive :P
Mmm.. a hand made scarf out of just the right feeling wool would be really nice. Times like this I wish I knew how to. Think it's the only thing mother couldn't teach me how to do... (besides how to cook and clean and... )
