Unhappy Cant believe it...

I feel like the worst owner ever.
My male betta Bryan needed his bowl clean, but my dad misplaced the net. So I started pouring the water into the other bowl, thinking Bryan would simply "flow in". I was also in a bad mood (I know, no excuse) I saw him ready to go into the other bowl and because the container was filling up too quickly, he sprung out of it and landed in the drain. I screamed "no no NO!" and was desperately trying to get him out. I thought I lost him.
By miracle, I got him out of the drain and put him in the separate bowl.
I broke down and started crying, I'm still shaking.
He's such a beautiful fish, I love him dearly, I cant believe I could be so stupid.
I'm ashamed of myself. But I am so thankful, so lucky, that he did not fall down the drain.

I'm so sorry :( You're not the worst owner at all. Not even close, not even a smidge of a neglectful owner. You simply made a misjudgment, don't be too hard on yourself. Think of it as a lesson learned.
I'm glad to hear you were able to grab him, and I hope there is no lasting harm. Best wishes to you and Bryan, I hope your day gets better.. he's going in a clean home, so his is already getting better

I think we've all done stuff like that at one time or another.

Thank you so much everyone for the comforting replies, I'm still pretty upset but he seems fine, swimming around happily in his clean tank :)

I'm glad your fish is okay (:

I also did that once a loong time ago and after that I went out and bought the drain net thing. I know everybody already told you it's okay, I just want to say that judging from your reaction after this incident, I can tell you care deeply for your fish and you are an awesome fish owner, this was just a simple mistake so don't feel too bad!
