velvet?

I have had the worst luck the past week with bettas ever. I received a shipment of 7 bettas on tues. 2 doa,lost one 2 shock during acclimation,and now it looks like my beautiful black orchid has velvet. He is in a one gal qt tank w daily 90% water changes using api stress coat in water,woke this morning to gold looking shiny patches on head...
help...temp is 78..going 2 move him into a dark room that's much warmer. Im going 2 start w aq salt right away. I have jungle parasite clear. From reading posts and internet research these 2 things are my options anymore suggestions?I was going out 2 petstore today anyway, I could pick up something better.

Velvet seems like cancer, for comparison purposes, at least. Just make him comfortable, and do your best...
