New Betta in the house!

I finally got my little Betta!

He cost me a fortune ($70! D:), but he's worth it. He was a fiesty little thing when I saw him at the petstore, so I decided to get him, along with a 3.5 gallon tank and a few acessories, along with Aquarium Salt and the essentials.

I'm currently letting his tank filter run, but one of my concerns is that it's too fast or creates too much bubbles for him. Can anyone show me a video of how it's supposed to look? Also, how long should I let the filter run and let the dechlorinator go through before putting him in?

Pics will come once Wheatley (that's his name! :D) isn't so stressed out. I did feed him in the Petsmart cup and he ate both of the pellets.

cute name :D
If the filter is too strong you can use an aquarium sponge and rubber band it infront of the outtake.

I'm not an expert but I would say if he can swim freely and easily around without being pushed around by it it is fine. However you should probably get a second opinion.

Post pics soon please or you could even just tell us what he looks like if your camera/computer is being stubborn.

Haha, sorry about the delay!

No, everything including the Betta was $70.

I put some pics up in the Picture forum, but here are a few!

he's cute! and i love his rocks

i've spend $200 on my betta at this point and i've only had him for 2 months >.<

i had to try 3 different kinds of food before i found one he'd eat and when he got sick, i bought a huge thing of bettafix before realizing how bad it is. sigh. i'll get the hang of this betta thing yet!

Haha, I'm a newbie at the whole thing too! Wheatley's been at my house for 3 days now and so far, the only problem I've had his him swimming up to the surface everytime I come near him xD

i bought a fish because i thought it would be easy to take care of! we had a betta as a child and it seemed so simple. it's been really fun researching for him though, he has so much personality!
