It's hard to avoid the temptation isn't it.
I told myself...ONE BETTA in the 10g, no more. I still have my old minibows in my hall closet, told myself nothing in those either.
And now I gone and divided the 10. And the minibows in my closet are whispering to me in the night.
That being said, the little guy is perking up even more. :) He wouldn't flare really until this morning; but just before I brought out the bloodworms (it's treat day) I finally saw his beard. Falling in love with the little guy.
And kudos to my local petsmart. Mine has well cared for fish, and they all look healthy every time I go in there. I had a bad experience with Petco though a long time ago; the one in my area seems to have much weaker stock...and I lost 2 new bettas each within a week; no symptoms at all. Haven't gone back there for a fish since then, and never intend to.
I have a question for the breeders though. His irridescence seems to travel only halfway down his body (not obvious in the picture, but in the video I posted it is more clear). Will this color up as he settles in? Or is it a genetic thing? I still think he's beautiful regardless, was just wondering. :)
