New betta wont eat?

I just got Lord Sesshoumaru (avatar) yesterday, and he doesn't seem to want to eat his pellets. They're Wardley Advanced Betta Pellets. I gave him three, and he doesn't seem interested in them. But he's active, swimming around and stuff.

He keeps looking at the food, but them swimming away. :/

Give him time to adjust. It might be up to 2 weeks before he decides he needs to eat, but give him a few days minimum. Also, try to find out what the store fed him, or go buy some frozen bloodworms. It takes a really picky fish to turn their nose up at those!

Petsmart fed him pellets.

Like Kytkat said, can take up to a couple weeks. If you are worried, you can try soaking a couple pellets in garlic juice prior to feeding. It's like catnip for fish, they normally go nuts for it. Otherwise, don't stress, he'll eat soon enough.
Good luck, and handsome boy you've got there, enjoy :)

Different brands taste better than others. My boys both love New Life Spectrum, though I know Petsmart would be too cheap to feed it. If you look at the ingredients and the first couple are some form of fish or shrimp meal they will taste better.

I guess I am lucky. I picked up my Betta yesterday as well and he is eating his New Life Spectrum Betta pellets as soon as I put them in the tank.

beagle: Same with me! Some fish are just more chill with life than others.

well i have those pellets, some tropical flakes (more for vegetarian fish though), some freeze dried blood worms, and some frozen blood worms. Hopefully he'll like one of those...

Freeze dried worms have no nutritional value though and are just a filler snack. Just to let you know. I have a little boy who took about 3 days to eat while all my other ate with in an hour of being in their tanks.
