I don't know how

My fish flame died on Aug. 11 I don't know how but I really miss that fish I don't know how he died Flame was my first betta so i really loved that fish. we got a new one but I don't feel the same way of how I loved flame can someone please give me some answers on how he died
Here are some hints
-we found him dead upside down
-my fish wouldn't eat
-he always lies down
That's all please answer
