Awww thanks everyone for the congrats! :) I have next to nothing planned so I am a little jealous of people who can plan weddings so fast -_- maybe I am too picky. :P abby, what kind of sandals do u mean? Saylorkennedy, how did she do it so fast? Mostly online? What is her theme? Fighter, thank you! I <3 shabby chic and the birdcages def fit that theme. I wonder where I can find a bright yellow dresser :P

Try Ikea for the bright yellow dresser. At worst, it'll be white and you have to paint it, but either way it'll be cheap. And cheap is good when planning a wedding. :) Or so I hear.

Congrats!

I know the way we think about it isn't common but, when me and my hubby got married we didn't have a big wedding. We were married by a notary with just my parents and his mom (his family couldn't be here as they lived in CA where my husband is from). It's what we wanted. Then, we had a casual reception at our house and our mothers made a pretty three tier red velvet cake for us.
Our thought behind the whole thing is that we feel like more should be put toward the marriage and not so heavily on the wedding.

Angelic, that's neat both of your mothers made the cake. It makes it seem like a real bonding of both families.

My friend got a plain 3 tier white cake and just put live flowers on it. I wish I had a pic but from what I hear, it was very pretty.

My fiance and I have talked about just getting married now (my dad is an ordained reverand) and then having our wedding next yr. But I have a hard time with that because I want the wedding day to be the day we get married and walk the aisle as husband and wife ... :)

I would love my family to be involmved in cooking/cake baking etc but most reception venues will not allow food from either 1.an outside caterer or 2. An unlicensed caterer..

Your families can make you a 1 year anniversary cake then. :)

Here's an idea for helping you plan your wedding. My friend used it and it turned out really helpful and she had a gorgeous wedding - www.theknot.com. It's free and they don't send you ads.

Congratulations, too!
