That does work sometimes, but it depends on how thoroughly things are moved. Sort of like it's a new tank to them, but really the same.

It's all good. I've been here a while and I'm still learning, too. Welcome to the forum. :D

Understood... I'm not on much anymore because 1. my fish are all in generally good health and I'm not so much into sharing what they look like much, and 2. I'm a little busy myself getting ready to go in for the military soon. I happen to be wandering around here today because one of my female bettas has dropsy, and I suffered a bit of a heavy loss in fish after returning from a 3 week trip away from home.

Thanks for all the help!

We watched them last night and they seemed to calm down a bit. I felt comfortable enough to leave them overnight. I'm at work right now but my grandfather has been watching them all day for me (they're in his office). He says that they are doing fine. I'll probably swing by and pick up a tank divider in case things go south again.

I did introduce the betta into the platy tank, just fyi. I had bought a new 10 gallon tank, put the platies in it, and then added mr. betta later on.

I had read that platies and bettas were fine in multiple posts on this forum so I figured they'd be alright.

Yes, rearranging plants will have the territory no longer claimed... then all fish have to reclaim territory :) it works nicely.

What's weirder is seeing the fast danio try schooling with the not-so-fast betta ahahaha that was weird... they couldn't figure out why he would not catch up...
