I'm assuming since it's being shipped, they won't be like that for much longer then a week or so.. so I would say the amount of plants are fine. It helps divert attention from each other, and places to hide in.
It being a shared one gal I would up the water changes a little then what a normal 1gal requires. 2 50% and 1 100% per week, or possibly 50% every other day until you get your new tank set up.
They have lived and survived in worse conditions prior to you bringing them home. With the proper care (temp/water change/conditioner) they shouldn't have much trouble being in there temporarily. If you do notice excess flaring, you can keep them in an area of the room that isn't as bright to help keep them soothed.

I appreciate the help but I just put Ra in a different temp tank cuz they were still flaring excessively while in the dark, not to mention Ra managed to slip under the divider somehow or jumped over it and I got worried. They made bubblenests over night but now Bal flares whenever he sees me...
