What breed of betta?

Would it be better to breed VTs or CTs? I have a VT male and a DT male (not fit for breeding) now, and a local breeder can get me some VT or CT females, and a CT male. Question is, would it be better to pair some VTs or some CTs? This would be my first betta spawn, I've done guppies and tetras before.

The spawning process is the same. Spawning veiltails is a bit controversial because their tail type is so common and dominant that there isn't really a reason to spawn them, so I would recommend crowntails.

I second the crown tails. If you cross a veil tail with anything most of the fry would be veil that is how common it is

Ok thanks. That's what I figured about the veiltails. Would it be a good idea to pair the veiltails for my first spawn, since it is my first spawn?

Doesnt matter... all betta no matter what the tail type spawn with the same level of easiness... CT VT HM's they all take the same amount of skill so its up to you what you want to breed

I ended up getting some females of both, so I can delay choosing til later

A mushy part of me wants my VT Aliquis to be my first, cuz I'm so attached to him and he's what got me into bettas to begin with. But I don't have to decide for a few more weeks, til I get my girls conditioned.
