My females and my males dragon hm

Here are my females dragon hm plus the 2 males dragon hm that i bought from a local breeder last weekend. It is impossible to find hm, hmplakat females here specially with dragon scales unless you get them from aquabid. I put them in a 5g tank with some live plants.
So far, they like their new home. The males are healthy and active, i let them rest a little and will pair them next week so they can spawn.

Nice fishies!! (question, to "pair" them, do you separate the sorority and put one female to a male?? Bc I heard sorority's are hard to start up in the first place and to separate them would mean you have to start all over again..)

Yep, i know already what i want. The black dragon hm male will be pair with an orange dragon female.
The blue mix color dragon will be pair with a green full mask dragon female.
I like to mix this way so i will get different coloration.

I don't separate them at all. I just feed the females 3 times a day with live worms for 2 weeks so their belly will be big and also they will be strong enough to spawn for few days or more. After the 2 weeks, i will then put the pairs next to each other for few hours then i will add the male first in the tank, let him get use to the tank for 1h then i will add the female. When i breed, i dont like to have plants or other things inside. I will just put a big almond leave and usually, the male build his bubble nest under the leave.

I think I'm going to have to be the bad guy here and say a five gallon is far, far too small for that many bettas! It's an accident waiting to happen. For the moment they might look happy, but it's almost guaranteed that with a set-up that small and that many fish you're going to have aggression sooner or later. Ten gallons is usually the minimum size suggested for a sorority, and I'd say that with as many as you have a bit bigger might actually be better!
